About T.G.I.Friday's
T.G.I. Friday’s
Friday's are experience restaurants with a unique atmosphere and service philosophy. The first restaurant opened in New York City in 1965 under the name - "Thank God It's Friday". Today, Friday’s is an international chain with over 970 restaurants in 56 countries. Friday’s is owned by the global restaurant company, Carlson Restaurants Worldwide Inc.
The restaurants are fitted out like American diners with leather sofas, dark woodwork, nostalgic posters and lighting to lend a classic, intimate atmosphere in a warm setting.
Friday’s emphasises fast service in a relaxed informal setting. Our menus are inspired by American and international cuisine and include food from the grill, finger food, tapas, salads and lots of tasty snacks and main course dishes. In our bar section, customers can choose from a wide selection of international drinks, while our bartenders are happy to entertain guests with their flairing skills – bottle juggling in plain old Norwegian.
Scandinavia’s first Friday’s restaurant opened in Stockholm in 1996. Since then, we have opened five restaurants – three in Oslo, one in Bergen and one in Kungsan, Stockholm.
By the close of 2006, we employed on average 430 people in Scandinavia, including summer staff.
Umoe Catering owns the rights to the international restaurant concept TGI Friday’s in Scandinavia.
Our vision for Friday’s in Scandinavia is: “Everyone could use more Friday’s!”
Our daily mission is: “We celebrate our customers!”
We want Friday’s to be known as: “the great place for great people and great work”.
